Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit Jammu and Kashmir on April 24 for ‘Panchayati Raj Day,’ during which he would meet with members of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs), announce industrial investments, and lay foundation stones for a number of development projects, according to reports.

The location of the celebration would be decided by the Centre in cooperation with the J&K administration, according to reports. According to sources, the event would most likely take place in Jammu.
According to sources, the Prime Minister would speak to Panchayati Raj institutions including District Development Councils (DDCs), Block Development Councils (BDCs), and Panchayats (Sarpanches and Panchs).
For the first time, three-tier Panchayati Raj Institutions were constituted in Jammu & Kashmir. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the UT’s annual budget for fiscal year 2022-23 in Parliament on March 14, and it contains a large cash allocation for both urban and rural local bodies.
Modi celebrated Diwali with Army personnel at Rajouri on October 27, 2019 and Nowshera sector of Jammu division on November 3, 2021.
The Prime Minister is likely to start industrial investments in Jammu and Kashmir as well as inaugurate and lay the foundation for several development projects during his visit to the Union Territory, according to sources.
